We're doing our best to transform our experiences, tools, and talents into actions of support for the innovative SOLUTIONS we are discovering around the planet.
A big 'for example' is our involvement with Vajra Academy's TIE THE TRASH project.
The main goal for this great green eco-school, south of Kathmandu in Nepal, is to spread and inspire empowerment amongst young people, to take actions like recycling to heart and realize the value of 'idea'.
A question came up as the project moved forward: what to do with the plastic rope once Tie the Trash fades away?
The Greenheart decided to tackle the issue and have found a few ways to make direct use of many different types of plastic, including hard-to-recycle plastic bags and wrappers.
Part of our plan includes 3D printing technology, making use of some of the recycled plastic as 3D filament which would then be made into something of some inherent value.
We thought it out even further, and after some testing, we will show designs for using plastic bag plastic to make solar cookers!
We hope to receive funding from corporate and private sponsors but our non-profit status is pending and far-off. For now, we pass the hat, beg for crowdfunding support, we dig deep into our pockets, and we sometimes collect modest fees for our performances.
if the hat comes across your lap, drop a few rupees and help The Greenheart move.
